A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS - SEPTEMBER 2019

THINGS I'VE BEEN LOVING LATELY

Hello there,

Whoa! I wrote that with a British accent on my head! Haha!

Anyway, happy Wednesday we're getting closer to the weekend!

Today, like I religiously do every month, I am going to share with you my favorites!

Pardon if I am a little rusty, I began school and this week is my third week. It is kinda hard to handle everything when you go to school and have a part-time job. But nothing that time management can't solve.

So I wanted to hop back with an easy write, my favorites. Let's start, shall we?

Instant Oats - Any brand - Any flavor!

Okay, so I am not a breakfast person. I skip breakfast 90 % of the time. But since the days I go to school I spend all day out of my house. I wanted to start eating properly.

Oats are easy to prepare! And easy to carry around and eat! I buy the packets and add toppings like nuts, and fruit. They make my life easier.

Snow Falling - Jane Gloriana Villanueva - As seen on Jane The Virgin.

Yes! You read that right!

When finished the season finale of Jane The Virgin, I was broken-hearted because the show I watched for 4 years got to an end.

This show hits home so bad! Growing up watching novelas with my Abuelita, I felt included. I love how the show addresses some of the issues Latinos face these days.

I love Gina! She's an AMAZING actor! An amazing person overall!

I've had this book on my Amazon cart for a while now until I got broken-hearted and I was not ready to let go of Jane The Virgin so I got it!

Man, I love it! It's like you're hearing Jane's voice as you read it! Right now as I write this I am halfway through the book. Is an easy read! It gets you hooked and you don't want to stop reading.

If you are a Jane The Virgin fan you should definitely buy it!

For the first time in a looooong time. I am talking about makeup!

Yup! The reason why this blog was created!

During summer break I ditched the whole makeup thing, the heat here in H-town is cray-cray! Now that I go to school and interact with more humans, I want to look presentable. I have 3 staples that have saved my life in the past weeks.

Kat Von D - Shade & Light Contour Palette.

I bought this face palette a while ago! I recently fall in love with it. Why? Because the less time I have to get ready, the fewer products I have to use and the fewer steps I want to do. Having my setting powder and my bronzer/contour in one palette helps me accomplish that.

I use the first two colors from left to right to set my under eye concealer. And the two on the bottom to contour.

The light powders, not only set my concealer but they brighten the undereye area and they make me look less tired even tho I am!

The dark powders help me sculpt my face. They are easy to blend and they do not make you look muddy.

Milani - Baked Powder Blush - Luminoso

This is blush is the "perfect blush."

This blush gives life to my face basically.

It's this subtle shimmery corally color, that works with every skin tone! And because it has some shimmer it gives you the most radiant glow! It's so pretty I love it! It makes my cheeks look juicy.

Maybelline - The Rocket Mascara.

This was my fave back in highschool.

I need my mascara to do 3 things:

1. Hold my curl.

2. Make my lashes appear longer.

3. Don't make me look like a raccoon at the end of the day.

This one gives me all those things. It helps my straight lashes stay curly all day! My lashes look longer, people even as if I got lash extension lol! And it holds up, and do not smear!

I have long days, and the heat is always a problem where I live, I need products to meet my standards.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS - AUGUST 2019

Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Happy Wednesday,
as per usual today I am sharing with you a few of my favorite things for the past month.

Hope you enjoy the blog post, and let's get started:

1. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck- Mark Manson.

"A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life".

I know the title of the book is a little interesting per se. Do not get thrown off. Wait, let me tell you why you should read this book. A little of backstory, I was at Target one night (I know shocking, me at Target). Anyway, back to the story. I saw the book, and I was always intrigued by the book, so  I looked it up on Amazon to see if I could find it for less and I did. I got it the next day cause of Amazon prime! So it has been a week since I got it and I'm almost finished with the book. It is a great book. It gives you another outlet in life. Basically, it tells you what to really give an F about. I really recommend you read it. It's an easy read, with a really blunt way of telling stuff. If you are too sensitive for this, just stay away!

2. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist- Deep  Conditioner.

Since I dyed my hair back in July I needed a deep conditioner to help maintain my hair healthy. And since all I do to my hair is wash it, let it air dry and brush it, I do not need millions of products. I rarely use heat on my hair. This product keeps my hair hydrated and without the frizz. I use it once a week all over my head like you're supposed to use a deep conditioner and the rest of the days of the week I used it as a regular conditioner, from mid to end. It does a good job.

Buy here $2.99

3. Tempt Me/ Amazon One Piece Swimsuit- G-Floral.

Although I did not spend much time at the pool this summer, and I only went to the beach once. I decided it was time for a new swimsuit. I got this one for $25 with free 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime. Anyway, I love it! It's cute, but not too showy. It is comfortable since it's a once piece you can swim with the confidence nothing is going to show. I decided to use a short over it because I was spending the day a the beach with my fam. I got in a Large and it fit good, not too tight, not too baggy. I decided to get it because of the wonderful reviews and because Amazon offers free returns. Also, I forgot to mention, the design its pretty good if you are self-conscious because it kinda hides "problematic areas". Remember al body shapes are beautiful, and you should wear anything you like.

Buy here $25

4. Kiss Ever EZ Lash Adhesive- Clear.

False eyelashes were always a tricky subject. But I finally mastered the false eyelash field! I always thought I was the dumb one, and I wouldn't be able to put on false eyelashes until I realized it was the glue I was using. I am not going to mention it because it's a cult favorite and I don't want to get bashed. Back to the glue, well for starters, my eyelid does not react well with latex, so I was on the hunt for a latex-free eye glue. I heard the Revlon was a good one but I could not find it. Anyway after stumbling many videos of "how to put false eyelashes on" I found this gem the Kiss lash adhesive. After some times practicing and getting comfortable, I conquered it! I finally could apply eyelashes without getting the glue everywhere, and without gluing my eyelids together. The applicator is super helpful because it applies the right amount, this prevents the mess. Also, the color changes when it's ready to apply. And it holds your lashes all day! Even in hot/humid weather. I can not say enough good things about this eyelash glue. If you're struggling with the false eyelashes application give this lash adhesive a try, you won't regret it.

Buy here $4.99

5. Aloe Vera Gel - Fruit of the Earth.

The only time I went to the beach this summer I got sunburn as usual. Aloe vera gel is always a must for me! All year round! Because I use it when my skin is feeling dry. Any brand is okay, just look for !00% aloe vera gel with no colorants and no alcohol. This one I got at Walmart. Aloe vera can be used for many things

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS - JULY 2019

Thursday, July 18, 2019

Oh hey there!

I know, I know another favorites post!
But I really like to share my favorites and they are so easy to write.

Let's start!

Mini Round Snack Container - The Container Store.

Near my gym, there's a small shopping center, and they have a The Container Store. Like any organization freak, every time I enter my hearts skips a beat. The Container Stores has everything you need to organize every single corner of your house/office/business. Wondering myself inside the store I got to the kitchen section and I found this little gem. I like making my own mix trails, and I find this little container amazing for this purpose. I like it because this way I limit the times I use Ziploc bags. You can put any snack inside and it helps to keep track of portions if your counting calories.

Buy here $1.99

CAFE BUSTELO - Expresso Coffee

I like my Cafecito strong! I'm taking an online class, and some nights are long for me, and the next morning I have to be awake. I love the smell of strong coffee. Cafe Bustelo is my fav! Something about this coffee makes me jump out of the bed and turn on my coffee maker, hear the little drops, smell the coffee, and take a big sip! I just add a bit of almond milk and I am good to go!
Buy at your local grocery store.

Homemade Vanilla Mug - Blue Bell

I think this is the cutest mug! I got on my recent trip to the Blue Bell Factory.
Buy Here $14.75

Hair, Skin, & Nail Gummies - Nature's Bounty.

One of my cousins recommended these vitamins, and I'm already on my second bottle! I think these vitamins helped a lot to make my hair and nails grow (because of the biotin) I love the fact that they are gummies because they are easier for my body to digest. Biotin alone gives me an allergy reaction. Totally recommend these ones. FYI always consult with your doctor before taking any supplements.
Buy Here $12.22

Jordana Matte Lipstick -  63 Poppy Pink

Pink lips are my fav for the summer season! This lipstick is so comfortable to wear, I like that when it fades it leaves a tint on the lips instead of leaving patches. It's super cheap! It's my staple for every summer!
Buy here $1.99

Hope you enjoyed my favs! See you later!

September & October Favorites

Saturday, November 11, 2017

Staples from the past months.

Hello! You already know the drill, I talk about my favorites every two months. Let's get started with the favorites.

My birthday was back in October I am 22 now! Some of my favorites are birthday gifts.

RANDOM FAVS

I may be too old for stuffed animals, but this little guy is too cute! If you already saw Despicable Me 3 you already know the name of this pretty Unicorn, his name is FLUFFY. Since the first movie came out I wanted a Fluffy, but I didn't find one, my sister gave me this little one of my birthday and I love it!

SKINCARE FAVES

The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Control Lotion.

This is an awesome lotion for people with oily skin. The Body Shop uses more natural ingredients in their products. They are cruelty-free. This lotion feels so light on my face, it doesn't break me out and it absorbs really fast.

BODY/FRAGRANCE

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette.

I am a huge fan of fruity, fresh and floral scents. I really really like this scent! Is fresh and fruity. Is not a perfume is a body splash.

Crystal Essence Mineral Deodorant.

Many studies have found that antiperspirants, main ingredient which is aluminum may cause breast cancer. I have been using this deodorant, and I gotta say I like it! I am trying to get away from deodorants that contain aluminum, and this brand is a good one.

HAIR

CHI Straight Guard

My hair was getting long, and on my birthday at my local Ulta where cutting hair for $10 dollars and all the proceeds will go to BCRF. So I cut my hair short, and now that is short is easier to style.  I normally take a shower and I leave it to air dry, I put a tiny amount of the product and it makes my hair softer and it stops from being all frizzy.

NAILS

KL Polish in Mami Martha

All profits from Mami Martha will be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Mami Martha is a pink nail polish in tribute to Kathleen's Grandma who fought breast cancer.

MAKEUP

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

My sister and my dad bought me this palette for my birthday! haha, they know me well. I wanted this palette for so long, but I always hesitate to buy it because pink tones are not my favorites. I got to say I fell in love with it!

Ittse Makeup The Lotus Collection Collab with CoffeeBreakWithDani.
This is a collab with my favorite Youtuber CoffeeBreakWithDani!
The colors from the quad are the four on the bottom. These are not regular shadows and they have to be applied differently. I foil them and they look stunning in the eyes!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.

Okay, let me just tell you something, the hype behind this concealer is true, and you need to go get it asap. It is creamy and it blends beautifully, it melts into the skin.

Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow base.

This shadow base is so inexpensive. I apply it all over my lids and since it has a tint to it, it helps camouflage all the redness on my eyelids plus it helps my eyeshadow stay longer.

Nyx Glitter Glue.

I got this tip from Stephanie Nicole. She applies glitter glue just before she puts any shimmer eyeshadow on her lid. Since she has hooded eyes like me, sometimes shimmer shadows can transfer into the crease area and the eye look ends up looking messy. Since I've been doing this trick my shimmer shadow stopped transferring and it pops more now.

L.A Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil.

This replaced my elf $2 eyebrow pencil it's like having an ABH brow pencil but for $5 bucks.

L.A Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipstick in Snuggle.

lately, I've been loving nude lipsticks, but the ones that look like my lips but better (hope you understand). This lipstick gives the perfect color to my lips, plus is creamy and it doesn't dry my lips.

Clean Sweep Makeup Brush Pad.

I bought this at Tj Maxx, I use it to clean my eye brushes in between shadows. This is perfect if you have a few eye brushes. It allows you to take off the residue of the previous eyeshadow without leaving the brush wet.

Well, this were my favorites of the past months. Leave me your favorites down in the comments.

Hope you liked this post.

As always, thank you for reading my blog! Hope this blog was helpful in any way!
See you soon!
